lay your cards on the table..

I suspect a friend of mine has a gambling problem.  Either that or I have a drinking problem, I aren’t too sure.

We were just having a friendly game of pool, at 2am in the morning. Doubles, me and him against another couple. Just passing the hours having some fun, you know.
I can vaguely remember him saying something along the lines of  ”£50, you £25 me £25″ I suppose I thought he was joking, and smiled and nodded.

Anyway turns out my friend can play some pool! And even in my drunken state I managed to pocket a few. Game Over! We win!

It should have been a happy time, but he seriously starts to demand £50 from my friends we were playing against. I was quiet embarrassed, It just seemed so odd to change the mood like that.

Now this friend of mine, always has no cash. He never seems to have a permanent job.
He is always checking sports scores on his phone. He does like sport, so I had never thought anything of it until now.

Also one thing sticks in my head, I mentioned to him how I was going to watch a football game today and he asked “who is going to win?” A simple question maybe.. but do I really look like Mystic Meg?
